Special Education Programs and Services for Children with Disabilities

Ohio school districts are required to provide FAPE, Free Appropriate Public Education, to all children in their attendance area who are determined to have a disability (ages 3-21). Disability in this case means such conditions as:

  • Autism
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Deaf-blindness
  • Deaf and Hearing Impaired
  • Emotional Disturbance
  • Multiple Disability
  • Orthopedic Impairment
  • Other Health Impairments
  • Specific Learning Disability
  • Speech or Language Impairment
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Occupational therapy provided through The Therapy Learning Center
  • Physical Therapy, Mobility, Vision and Hearing Services Provided through Hamilton County Educational Service Center

The Deer Park Community City School District will provide a multi-factored evaluation to determine if a child has a disability and what their educational needs are based on that evaluation. Deer Park offers a continuum of program options for students with special needs, who are evaluated and require special education services.
